Dr. Patricia Bernard, the founder and owner of Heels on Wheelz, a trucking business development company, is calling out the pharmaceutical industry and demanding lower drug costs.
She says it’s time to build on the steps taken earlier this year by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who signed House Bills 4348, 4351, and 4352, legislation designed to lower the costs of prescription drugs for Michiganders. These bills will limit costs tacked on by licensing pharmacy benefits managers – middlemen who control whether patients can access their prescriptions and how much they pay.
Dr. Bernard is a self-described “serial entrepreneur,” life coach, and long-time civilian employee with the Department of the Army working in logistics. She is running for office in Michigan House District 55.
