Michigan State Representative Julie Brixie recently discussed her votes for legislation to grow Michigan’s economy and reduce economic burdens on working families.
Brixie voted for nine bills, recently signed into law by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, intended to create jobs, support small businesses, and lower costs for Michiganders. The legislation contains a variety of provisions aimed at filling labor shortages and easing restrictions on businesses in Michigan’s tourism and hospitality industries, allowing them to maximize earnings.
Brixie has represented Michigan’s 69th district, in Ingham County, which includes parts of Lansing, East Lansing, and Meridian Township, since 2019. Prior to that, Brixie spent 18 years serving on the Meridian Township Board, first as a trustee and then as treasurer.
