Houston James recently earned the endorsement of Right to Life of Michigan, an organization that seeks to revive a 1931 state law that would criminalize abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
The Legislative Director of Right to Life of Michigan, Genevieve Marnon explained the group’s position: “We definitely support, of course, punishing the rapist, but we don’t support killing the unborn, innocent child.”
Representative Darrin Camilleri stands in opposition to the law’s reinstatement. “I pledge to protect every woman’s freedom to choose,” Rep. Camilleri has said. “Big decisions about your body, your health, and your future should be decided by you and your doctor, not politicians.”
James graduated from Tiffin University this year with a degree in homeland security and counter-terrorism. He is a former Division II quarterback and intern to Congressman Don Young from Alaska.
