POLL: Most Americans Hold Putin, Oil Companies Responsible for Higher Gas Prices

By Main Street Sentinel Staff

Rising gas prices have been putting the squeeze on Americans’ wallets, and most Americans think Vladimir Putin and oil and gas companies are to blame.

A new poll from Navigator Research found that Americans identify the Russian president and oil and gas companies as the parties most responsible for the steady increase in gas prices. Gas prices have been climbing since Putin invaded Ukraine in February. Other disruptions in the global supply chain have also had an effect on the way oil and gas companies produce and price crude oil, which directly affects the price consumers pay at the pump.

Over half of Americans agree that Putin and oil and gas companies, which are raking in record profits, are to blame for the hikes, rather than President Biden, who recently released 30 millions barrels of oil from the United States Strategic Reserve to help reduce the pain at the pump.
